This quintet by Schubert often battles the string quartet by Ravel in my mind for the title of Best Chamber Work Ever, and I think it's given a marvelous performance here by the Alban Berg Quartett with the addition of cellist Heinrich Schiff. All the sublime introspection, delicate yearning and quiet resolution are /5(9).
